How we chose these e-commerce quiz examples.

We looked at two main criteria for each quiz on this list. First, how helpful is the quiz to the customer? And as a corollary, how immersive is the experience for the customer? Is the customer finding the quiz to be so useful that they forget it’s a tool for selling products? If the answer to all three of those questions is a resounding yes, then the quiz meets the first criteria. Secondly, we look at how well the quizzes are performing for the businesses that created them. Are they driving new email subscribers and more importantly, product sales? Again, if the answer is yes then the quiz matches the second criterion.

E-Commerce quizzes are tough because there are so many of them now. What has happened is the market got flooded with quizzes promising to guide you to the perfect product. But from the consumer perspective those quizzes were thinly veiled upselling tools and visitors to E-commerce websites stopped taking the quizzes. What then happened is the best in class E-Commerce businesses pivoted their quiz approaches to be more consultative, assisting the customer with their purchasing decisions in a more helpful and less spammy way.
